SILC Ladies get arty!
Today we had the perfect Friday morning activity! An acrylic pouring art workshop, hosted and taught by Galina at her home in Bangkok. We all started out measuring the pouring medium carefully into our jugs, then got a little giddy choosing our allowance of 4 colours, before it descended into messy play as we tipped, poured and teased the paint over our canvases. But each one of us ended up with 2 gorgeous canvases, which we are going to display proudly on our walls at home

Lotus Crystal Factory Tour
This week we travelled to Rayong to visit the Lotus Crystal Factory and found out how grains of sand become crystal glassware for our much loved bubbles and spirits. We were taken on a tour of the factory and traced the process from the fine Belgian sand, through the melting process at 1400 Deg C, on to the men collecting the molten glass on long steel rods and shaping it by blowing through the rods, then onto the factory floor after the forming process. Japanese Dinner for International Women's Day.
There was real ambiance at Izakaya Teppen, Ekamai, when a group of Ladies from SILC met for dinner and celebrated International Women’s Day on March 8th, 2018! With the help of 2 Japanese ladies in the group plus 2 expat ladies with many years living in Japan between them, we managed to choose the best food and drink on the menu! Trijnie won the 1st prize in the lucky dip. Big thanks to Barbara for organising this truly international night out!
