Maeklong Train Market

Fourteen SILC ladies had a fantastic day out to Maeklong Train Market this week.

We left Bangna at 8am and arrived at Damnoen Saduak Floating Market by 10am, where we had a look at the market stalls and watched the very busy boats on the water with vendors selling a wide variety of wares.

Then it was just a short bus ride to the market over the railway, where the train trundles through 2 or 3 times a day (thankfully very slowly and with much pre-warning!)

After an exhausting morning shopping and keeping out of the way of trains, we had lunch at a lovely lakeside restaurant that Shirley has found and pre-booked for us. Delicious Thai food and cool drinks in a peaceful setting with good company - who could ask for more?
